ABOUT

Hello, I'm Meagan, and this is Blake, and this is my story.

In 2010, I started off my career at Softline Pastel Payroll (now Sage) as a tele sales consultant - corporates weren't exactly keen on appointing a fresh-faced marketer straight out of uni, despite having my honours degree. That was an eyeopener and humbling experience to say the least. But hey, I turned things around and became their top seminars sales consultant, which got me noticed, and soon I found myself in the Marketing department.

After almost five fantastic years, I decided it was time to switch gears and find a brand that really clicked with me. The retail industry beckoned, and I landed at The House of Busby, working with luxury brands GUESS, Karen Millen, Mango, Aldo, Nine West, Steve Madden, Call It Spring, and 3INA. It was like living out every girl's dream job, complete with a "Devil Wears Prada" moment or two.

After nearly another five years, a bit of uncertainty with the holding company nudged me towards yet another industry: Legacy Hotels and Resorts. Just as I was settling in, boom, pandemic hits. Considered a newbie, I was fully prepared for "last in first out", Thus, I found myself exploring the wild world of freelancing during lockdown. Thankfully, I managed to hold onto my job and put that freelancing dream on pause as the industry began to pick itself up again. Legacy was more than just a company—it was a family. With passionate leadership, stunning properties, and the perk of travel, I never thought I'd say goodbye.

Fast forward five years, enter Blake, and as a new mom I had no choice but to reassess my career path. After realigning my priorities, it was evident that a rigid 9-5 job was not an option for me any longer. However, I love what I do and had no choice but to find a flexible option that allows for a healthy work-life balance.  So, thanks to the arrival of my bouncing baby boy, I am now a full time freelancing marketing consultant / contractor.

Over the years, I have made sure to upskill myself to stay abreast of marketing trends. Expertise isn't just about knowing; it's about doing. That's why I believe in putting in the hours, getting hands-on experience, and mastering the craft through practical application. I've had the privilege of networking extensively and building connections with a diverse array of incredibly talented individuals, each specializing in their respective fields. As a versatile professional, I pride myself on being a one-stop-shop for all your needs. And when required, I can tap into my resources, ensuring that every aspect of your project is handled with precision and excellence.

Given the range of brands I've worked on, from software, to retail, to hotels, there is no industry that intimidates me. I love a challenge and take pride in my adaptability and eagerness to broaden horizons. If you're looking for a flexible, dedicated marketing resource at a reasonable rate - then I'm it.
